MLB DFS: Power Index – 5/27/23 – DraftKings Early & FanDuel Main Slates

The annoyingly-split Saturday slates have us covering as many common games as sanity will allow, with a 10-game Early Slate getting underway at 1:05 ET on DraftKings and a seven-game Main Slate starting at 4:05 ET on FanDuel. The board includes a solid handful of pitching options on both sites, with DraftKings gamers picking up the ability to play returning Luis Severino, veterans Chris Bassitt and Pablo Lopez, or any of three value options in addition to the 14 starters who are also available on the blue site. The power board is showing an upside for the Royals against Josiah Gray who was formerly a major target but has been much better in recent outings. There is obvious power on the board for the Astros, Yankees, and Blue Jays, as well as the Mariners, with the Orioles checking in as more of a question of which version of Andrew Heaney arrives on the opposing mound. At the bottom of the board, both Logan Webb and Framber Valdez are typically very good at keeping home run power in check.

Main Slate Power Index – 5/27/23 – DraftKings Early & FanDuel Main Slates

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
