MLB DFS: Power Index – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates – 9/26/23

One of the last full slates of the baseball season shapes up with a fairly strong lean toward the pitching side of the game on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. The DraftKings slate adds a high-octane offensive game by including the nightcap in the Coors Field doubleheader between the Dodgers and Rockies that FanDuel foregoes, but overall there are only a few spots that look truly primed for power, with most of the teams falling into a fat mid-board. Getting to a broad spread both on the mound – where there are numerous quality options including Kevin Gausman, Bailey Ober in a great matchup, Braxton Garrett, Reid Detmers, George Kirby, and others – and equally spread out shares at the plate, is the recommended approach for this evening’s action.

Main Slate Power Index – 9/26/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
