MLB DFS: Power Index – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates – 10/7/23

With the Wild Card round whipping by in record time with four two-game sweeps, the Division Round gets underway in what seems like a hurry on Saturday with solid four-game slates on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday is set up for a marathon of baseball viewing before the sport yields to the NFL to end the weekend, with a game, and the main slate, getting underway at 1:03 pm ET, two more starting between 4:45 and 7pm, and the fourth commencing at 9:36, gamers will have a long day of baseball with what should be highly competitive enjoyable high-end playoff games to enjoy before the slate is concluded. The return of the Atlanta Braves to action sees them return to the top of the power index and the stack rankings, with the Astros and Orioles posting good showings as well. Baltimore may be particularly interesting, they have been good against left-handed pitching for much of the season and are facing Dr. Andrew & Mr. Heaney on the mound in what could be a short start if the bad side comes up for the southpaw. Heaney strikes us as the most vulnerable starter on a deep pitching slate, but the veteran has a significant upside for strikeouts and there are no sure things at the plate in the playoffs.

Main Slate Power Index – 10/7/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
