MLB DFS: Power Index – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates – 10/4/23

The second games of each wild card series bring another round of premium pitchers with all eight options providing a reasonable path to success and no obvious quarter for bats. The slate should be relatively low-scoring with this much talent on the mound, as we typically see in MLB playoff formats. This leads us to a more open approach when it comes to utilizing shorter stacks and differentiated combinations of players in good spots, rather than focusing purely on building two full stacks for tonight’s contests on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Main Slate Power Index – 10/4/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
