MLB DFS: Power Index – 9/5/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The 10-game Tuesday MLB DFS main slate on FanDuel and DraftKings with a strong lean toward the hitting side of the equation. Several teams have an average at or around the “magic number” for home run power in their top-6 hitters, with the Phillies looking to tee off against Pedro Avila, the Braves drawing power from soft-tossing Miles Mikolas, and the Mets zeroing in on Patrick Corbin. Several other spots are showing potential for premium MLB DFS scoring, while only a few of the pitching options are truly both sound and high-ceiling. There are numerous playable parts on the mound, the board has a tall peak and a wide middle, but only Gerrit Cole and Framber Valdez are true top-of-rotation options on this slate.

Main Slate Power Index – 9/5/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
