MLB DFS: Power Index – 9/3/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The Sunday afternoon main slate features seven games on DraftKings and eight on FanDuel where they will sadistically include the Blue Jays vs Rockies game from Coors Field that features Kevin Gausman in a nearly slate-leading position on the mound in a terrible ballpark. The balance of the slate features the potential for major fireworks, with power showing throughout the day. The Marlins are showing slate-leading power against Josiah Gray, Toronto will look to pound Chase Anderson on the FanDuel slate, the Mariners, Rangers, and Red Sox are all in plus matchups for run creation and power, and there are good teams from further down the board that are showing major quality in the fantasy points column on our stacks tool. The somewhat thin pitching board has a few very high-end options and more of a questionable mid-range today, getting to a concentrated pitching pool with a fairly broad spread at the plate is a good angle into this afternoon.

Main Slate Power Index – 9/3/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
