MLB DFS: Power Index – 9/2/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The Saturday evening MLB DFS main slate features 11 games on both DraftKings and FanDuel with a far more limited pitching board than last night’s arms sale. The slate does include a few premium arms up top and some interesting names throughout the board at a variety of prices, we are not without good pitching, but there are more spots shining through for a bit of midrange power and fantasy scoring. The hard-hitting Braves lineup remains resident atop the board against rookie Emmet Sheehan, the Phillies are drawing sights on Colin Rea, the Cardinals and Pirates are both drawing fair numbers for scoring with St. Louis outpacing their opponents for power, and the Red Sox are showing strong marks against Alec Marsh before we even get to the Astros elite lineup against the ghost of Luis Severino or the Coors Field game. Tonight seems like a night with more focused public exposure on the mound and a broader spread at the plate, there should be more clear-cut decision points for lineup constructions than on the massive Friday slate.

Main Slate Power Index – 9/2/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
