MLB DFS: Power Index – 9/15/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The deep Friday evening pitching slate is countered by a fair amount of power at the plate in what should be a fun 13-game contest that has MLB DFS quality to spare on both sides of the game. The slate includes a Coors Field game that will see Logan Webb attempt to overcome the ballpark conditions from the top of our pitching pool as well as a few other interesting spots where good starters who project well, like Hunter Green and Tarik Skubal, are also pushing power marks in the direction of their opponents. Those teams do not rank at the top of the board for fantasy point scoring, so it seems that the model is picking up potential for individual opportunities rather than collectively good stacking spots. The remainder of the top-end of the power index includes the Padres, Astros, Rangers, Rays, Cubs, and Twins all facing hittable pitchers, this is a very deep slate that demands a wide net to capture a broad range of probable outcomes.

Main Slate Power Index – 9/15/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
