MLB DFS: Power Index – 8/29/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The Tuesday night MLB DFS main slate looks a lot like Monday’s 12-game slate only with slightly worse pitching. The board is littered with targetable pitchers, including a pitcher who has been a home run target for us all season facing the Braves at Coors Field in what will be another ludicrously popular but probably valuable game for Atlanta. The Mets are drawing strong power marks against lefty Andrew Heaney, but he is not poorly projected on the other side and is very much a Jekyll and Hyde pitcher. Texas, St. Louis, Boston, Baltimore, the Dodgers, and Seattle are all looking like very good options for power with a number of high-value players on each team providing the ability to click premium options together in the same lineup.

Main Slate Power Index – 8/29/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
