MLB DFS: Power Index – 8/28/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates – Updated

The Monday MLB DFS main slate is a loaded affair on both DraftKings and FanDuel with a dozen games and a wealth of options both on the mound and at the plate. The pitching pool has a clear candidate at the top of the list with a strong group of supporting options at a range of experience and salary levels that should leave gamers with combinations aplenty. With a long list of lower-end starters also taking the mound, and of course with the elite Braves occupying Coors Field for a few days, a massive amount of power and run-creation potential is available on the large slate. Spreading out to cover a wide range of potential outcomes, while dealing with Coors popularity as its own animal and a specific decision point for construction of a full portfolio of lineups is the recommended approach.

Main Slate Power Index – 8/28/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
