MLB DFS: Power Index – 8/26/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates – Updated

The eight-game Saturday night main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel features a solid board with a strong blend of pitching and hitting options that takes a slight lean toward action at the plate. The pitching options peak at a high point with Max Scherzer, Zack Wheeler, Freddy Peralta, and a handful of playable options while there are several teams drawing stout power numbers against the slate’s weaker pitching options. The breakdown runs in a straight line through the quality options on the mound from the Mets pulling big numbers against Chase Silseth, the Brewers looking to tee off against Pedro Avila, and the Angels squaring up against Carlos Carrasco. The Athletics are a potentially interesting option, as lousy as they can be, with their suddenly power-packed lineup facing Touki Toussaint.

Main Slate Power Index – 8/26/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
