The MLB DFS main slate takes a dramatically different shape from site to site. FanDuel has seven games and foregoes all of the second games of the doubleheaders on the West Coast, while DraftKings kept all three of those games on board for a 10-game slate. We are presenting two separate boards to accommodate the differences between sites on what looks like a deep pitching slate with numerous options for quality in both tournaments, DraftKings has more depth with four of the six pitchers in the three bonus games carrying decent projections and a fair amount of talent. None of the teams on the board are crashing through the top of the Power Index on either site, but there are some high-quality spots for power across the board and there is a Coors Field game to deal with on both sites once again.
Main Slate Power Index – 8/19/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
