MLB DFS: Power Index – 8/09/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The nine-game MLB DFS main slate features a board loaded with offense and somewhat limited pitching options, outside of a few apex predators at the very top of the list. Today’s slate is packed to the gills with mediocre to bad options on the mound and they will be facing some of the hardest-hitting homer-happy teams in baseball, and if you think we’re talking about Quinn Priester facing the Braves you’ve clearly been here before. Atlanta is looking cocked and ready to fire against the scuffling rookie while the Yankees are pulling in strong home run marks and good value scores against the body of Mike Clevinger, the Padres are facing a highly regarded rookie making his first MLB start, and the Mets and Red Sox get to tee off against Kyle Hendricks and Jordan Lyles respectively.

Main Slate Power Index – 8/09/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
