MLB DFS: Power Index – 8/06/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

A deep Sunday afternoon MLB DFS pitching slate on DraftKings and FanDuel has us focused on blending options on the mound while targeting a few key spots at the plate for aggressive ownership and spreading additional lineup shares as far and wide as possible. The board has a fair amount of power for a day with deep pitching, contributions from pitchers working in Yankee Stadium, the Braves offense just existing, and Andrew Heaney pitching on the slate push a few of the obvious names up the board, but there are additional spots lurking like the slate-leading Rays facing Matt Manning or the Orioles taking on lefty Jose Quintana. The board offers a wealth of options on both sides for the 11-gamer, but the day looks like it will be won primarily on the mound with good pitching cutting a path through lineups up and down.

Main Slate Power Index – 8/05/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.

NOTE: Tyler Glasnow has been scratched from his start against the Tigers, Erasmo Ramirez will now be pitching for the Rays, this is a minor bump for the bad Tigers and it should be obvious that Ramirez will not become the top starter on the board in Glasnow’s place.
