The split-slate Saturday has our focus on the 4pm afternoon games that make up the FanDuel main slate but land as the afternoon slate on DraftKings due to an unforced error on our part. The slate for the afternoon looks ripe for offense and limited on the pitching side, which should make for a fun and high-scoring set of games for MLB DFS purposes. There are a few usable arms, but this is almost certainly an afternoon on which the contests will be won with significant performances at the plate and by landing on two games with bent scores.
Main Slate Power Index – 7/8/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
