The Wednesday evening main slate gets back to business with a full 11 games on both DraftKings and FanDuel and a board loaded with opportunities both on the mound and at the plate. Several of our favorite pitching targets will be on the mound offering up prime opportunities for home runs and run creation, they make up much of the top part of the Power Index today. The slate also includes a few premium teams that are not necessarily winning the day for power projections but have massive potential for power and tend to score a lot of runs every night, and if you were thinking “oh, that means the Braves” that whole sentence pat yourself on the back. The slate also includes a good mix of pitching options, though it may seem somewhat short on brand names and high salaries, which should make it a fun day to build dynamic lineups with top pitching options that are under the public radar.
Main Slate Power Index – 7/5/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
