MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/3/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

If you’re able to access it, FanDuel is running a six-game MLB DFS contest this evening. DraftKings is as well, but they do not seem to be having as much difficulty displaying their contests for the day as the blue site, so we are more confident that tournaments on the two-pitcher site will actually take place this evening. The slate involved features an interesting blend of mostly mid-level or emerging starters taking the mound and a few prime spots for power that may surprise. The six-game slate makes it easy to occupy a few clear positions while still covering a few additional potential outcomes with a few lineups, there should be several under-owned spots of opportunity both on the mound and at the plate on Monday.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/3/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.

Note: this table was updated to correct a transcription error in the projection for Blake Snell, who ranks 2nd on the pitching slate.
