MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/2/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

A 10-game FanDuel and nine-game DraftKings Sunday afternoon main slate gets underway at 1:35 ET and rolls through a rescheduled game in Chicago that will commence at 5:15 ET after all the other games are completed. The FanDuel slate also includes the Coors Field game that DraftKings chose to leave out of their pool, meaning the late game will be even further removed from earlier action on the two-pitcher site. Sunday’s slate features a bit of everything, from current aces to struggling former apex arms to gas cans against whom we will be aggressively playing bats. Overall there are plenty of pitching spots that could come through from the value tier, with names like Tony Gonsolin, Ranger Suarez, and Jordan Montgomery profiling well, which should allow access to premium hitting combinations at the plate.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/2/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
