MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/18/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The massive 14-game Tuesday main slate is ripe with opportunities for power across the league. Many of the teams on today’s slate are working with the back end of their rotation, offering up plenty of potential for run creation and home run hitting in several spots. The Braves are facing Zach Davies, the Astros are at Coors Field, the Cubs have a good opportunity against Patrick Corbin, and numerous other spots are offering up potential for major MLB DFS scoring. There are several high-end starters on the board as well, of course, but with all of the available power and several very high run totals on the board in Vegas, this has all the makings of a slate that will be won with bats.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/18/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
