MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/16/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The Sunday afternoon main slate gets underway at 1:35 ET with 10 games on DraftKings and 11, with the Coors Field game included, on FanDuel. The board is loaded with potential at the plate even without Coors on board while pitching is somewhat thinner than it has been over the past two days as teams get deeper into their rotations following the break. There are few high-end options on the mound today, the best overall starter is pitching at Coors and some of the more talented pitchers are in difficult matchups, which may render options like Zach Eflin very popular in an excellent matchup against the Royals. Getting to power potential at the plate is far easier on this slate with some of the hardest-hitting teams in the game leading the way at or near the top of the board.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/16/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
