MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/15/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The Saturday slate falls in the evening with 12 games on DraftKings, where the second games of double-headers will be included, and 10 games on the FanDuel slate where they will be not. The board is fully loaded again with the large slates, there is a wealth of quality pitching and several of the name brands are pulling in monster projections on the mound, there is a Coors Field game involving the Yankees, the Braves are leading the points projections yet again, and several good mid-level teams that tend to go under-owned are looking like viable options at the plate in matchups against middling starters. The slate demands a strong blend of options once again, making a decision around Coors Field and the massive ownership that the Yankees will draw despite last night’s disappointing performance is one strong angle on which to approach the slate.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/15/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
