MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/14/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

MLB DFS action returns in style on Friday evening with a massive 14-game slate that has a bit of everything available. The reset comes with a pitching board that contains a mix of premium arms and next-tier starters that creates a broad spectrum of starters who can be played for relatively safe points at high prices in great matchups or at a discount for embracing a bit more matchup risk. There are several strong starters at excellent value prices on both sites including options like Kenta Maeda, Paul Blackburn, Dean Kremer, MacKenzie Gore, Brayan Bello, and a few former aces who have fallen to low price points. The board is also blinking red with power warnings in the matchups for Atlanta, Texas, Tampa Bay, and, of course, the Coors Field game. Today’s slate demands a broad spread of lineup combinations both on the mound and at the plate.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/14/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.

*Updated 12:40 ET – Jose Berrios is pitching for Toronto instead of Chris Bassitt
