MLB DFS: Power Index – 7/1/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

A seven-game mid-afternoon main slate brings a wealth of premium pitching options that MLB DFS gamers could have used over the past two days. The presence of so much talent on the mound on a relatively small slate should lead to concentrated spots of ownership at the plate and a wide range of highly playable options on the mound, most of whom are likely to find similar levels of success. A slate that will demand playing hitters against talented starters in a full portfolio of lineups should offer natural diversification and differentiation but will required a bullseye on the pitcher(s) used in a lineup in order to access the top of the leaderboard and chase a win on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Main Slate Power Index – 7/1/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
