MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/5/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The MLB DFS main slates get underway at 6:40 ET with an early start on both sites to enable the inclusion of the games in Philadelphia and Miami. The seven games provide a wealth of interesting options, including yet another premium pitching debut, several highly targetable spots for power upside, and some names who have not been a good option since a half-decade ago in another life before we knew so much about personal face masks. Overall, the pitching slate looks a bit tighter than the options at the plate, several of the veterans taking the mound have been struggling or having odd years and there is a broad range of mediocrity that suggests hitting will win the day.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/5/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.

Note: this was updated at 12:20 pm ET to reflect a fix in the Cincinnati projected batting order, dropping their rating very slightly, all other teams were unchanged.
