MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/30/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The big 12-game Friday night main slate is loaded with a little of everything but seems to take an overall hitting-oriented lean. The pitching board has depth and a few good peak options, but it is broader than it is tall, with only a few true aces and a wealth of third-starter-level options. Getting to a spread of the best bats, both for power upside and by projection from our stacks board, and a blend of the top-rated pitchers, including several options from the pool of potentially lower-owned bargains, is a good approach to a slate of this nature that demands a wide net over bats but less so on the mound tonight.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/30/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
