MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/29/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The short five-game Thursday main slate gets underway at 7:07 ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel with an incredibly short pitching board that has one go-to ace and a whole lot of mediocrity. Spreading out to uncomfortable pitching options is going to be a necessity on this slate, several starters have either had long successful careers or have shown upside in infrequent instances, so there are options beyond the one obvious name, but most have not been in good form and others are in bad matchups, bad ballparks, or both. This is a slate on which diversification and embracing risk are the two most critical factors in lineup building.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/29/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
