The massive 15-game main slate gets rolling at a traditional 7:05 ET start time and features just about anything one could imagine for 30 baseball teams getting together. Premium starting pitching? Check. A broad mid-range of inexpensive under-owned pitchers? Check. The Dodgers looking to top the Angels’ run total in a Coors Field game? Check. The slate also includes a terrific matchup between the fun Reds and Orioles and a very interesting showdown between the Rays and Diamondbacks that features a good pitching matchup. The slate has such an abundance of options that there is no way to cover everything, a few key decisions will have to be made, but there are plenty of high-quality positions to occupy against the field’s likely ownership.
Main Slate Power Index – 6/27/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
