A Saturday afternoon 10-game main slate gets rolling at 4:05 pm ET with a similar feel to last night’s exciting slate. While there is no Coors Field game on this slate, the contest between the Braves and Reds in Cincinnati’s band box is serving as a Coors East with a monster run total and the expectation of significant scoring after last night’s classic battle between the two teams, though neither is at the top of the board for power. The Braves seem a bit low-ranked for their talents, but the opposing starter has not been awful for home runs allowed in his short career, which is having a bit of an impact, the team still easily projects as our top source of MLB DFS points on this slate. There are numerous sources of power toward the top of the board, with some of the best offenses in the game taking on lower-end starters, overall this looks like a day for hitting, spreading out through some of the top options, and casting a wide net over potential outcomes with a more narrow focus on the pitching board seems like a sound approach.
Main Slate Power Index – 6/24/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
