MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/21/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The Wednesday night main slate is a split affair, with seven games starting up at 6:40 ET on the FanDuel slate and DraftKings joining in for a six-game contest at 7:05. The board features a wealth of premium-to-solid pitching options, including an exciting debut for one of the top prospect pitchers in the sport, an ongoing theme in 2023, which has become the year of the stud rookie. Several familiar teams land at or near the top of the Power Index today, with the Angels, Padres, and Mariners all in strong situations to find a few home runs against lower-end or less experienced options. The Padres will likely see Sean Manaea (for real this time) out of the bullpen as a long reliever after the first inning, but he does not move the needle much in their power numbers. The Braves are an interesting case today, they are showing moderate power but pulling down strong MLB DFS projections again Aaron Nola in a tough matchup on both sides.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/21/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
