MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/20/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The meaty 11-game MLB DFS main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel gets underway at the traditional 7:05 ET start time and features an excellent array of options across the board. The slate includes both a lot of premium pitching and plenty of big shiny targets for upside in both the home run and run creation departments. The top of the Power Index board includes several hard-hitting teams and a few typically mid-range or bottom-ranked squads are facing low-end pitching in a good park. This should create an abundance of opportunities both at the plate and on the mound, this slate could truly go in any direction, the top eight pitchers in our model are separated by about five fantasy points from top to bottom and many of the aggregate team projections that weigh into our stack rankings are within a point of one another. Getting to a broad mix of coverage on bats and making a few key decisions to thin out the pitching pool is a good approach to a slate of this nature.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/20/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
