A huge 13-game MLB DFS main slate gets underway at 7:05 ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel with a board featuring a fair amount of power upside and also numerous premium starters from which to draw pitching shares. The wealth of options on this slate is obscene, and anyone who tells you that they know exactly where this one is headed is lying to you, but we can make educated inferences to choose where to make stands and sacrifices across the giant player pool. The top of the board remains targeted against Josiah Gray who has shown significant growth this year but still has a lousy history of giving up the long ball, the Royals’ hard-hitting lineup of free-swingers is in a great spot against Chase Anderson, and the White Sox are targetable against call-up Reese Olson. Three pitchers who sap power from opposing hitters have the Angels, Nationals, and Orioles ranked at the bottom of the board, all of Framber Valdez, Zack Wheeler, and Logan Webb are elite at keeping the ball in the yard over the long term.
Main Slate Power Index – 6/2/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
