MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/19/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

Monday evening’s main slates get underway with a traditional 7:05 ET start and seven games on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Despite the short slate, there are several quality pitching options available on the mound, but there are also plenty of targetable starters who are flashing power in the direction of their opponents. The contest in Cincinnati’s bandbox between two lousy teams seems likely to yield run-creation upside and power, while the Padres and Rangers are both in excellent spots against weak pitching options.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/19/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.

Note: The Padres are facing Ryan Walker as an opener before lefty Sean Manaea takes over in bulk relief. See our Strategy Snapshot article for more information.

Note II: the White Sox changed their opener to lefty Tanner Banks, he checks power slightly more than the original starter but should only pitch one inning, we are confident in the power projection for Texas as it appears above.
