MLB DFS: Power Index – 5/14/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The eight-game afternoon slate gets rolling at 1:35 ET on Sunday with a board that looks loaded with power potential. Several targetable pitchers will be taking the mound on a day that Vegas is seeing as somewhat evenly matched across much of baseball, with implied team run totals ranging from 3.7 to 5.3 but no exceptionally high game totals on the board for lack of a Coors Field game or similar situation. Several of the teams near the top of the board are likely to be very popular, and the pitching slate leaves much to be desired, so this is a good day to spread shares on both ends of the spectrum and reach as many differentiated combinations as possible while retaining viability.

Main Slate Power Index – 5/14/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column is the average of our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
