The Friday night MLB DFS main slate is loaded with 11 games on both DraftKings and FanDuel, but the most obvious team in fantasy baseball is leading the way once again with the Braves in a matchup against pincushion starter Patrick Corbin. The Dodgers, Rangers, Red Sox, Phillies, and Yankees are all flashing good upside for power in plus matchups as well, with the Astros and Rangers drawing stiffer competition on the mound but still showing good numbers for production. The slate demands a broad spread both on the mound and at the plate with this configuration, there are numerous viable starting pitching options on the deep slate, including several fairly priced aces.
Main Slate Power Index – 9/22/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
