The Friday night MLB DFS main slate is loaded with power potential on both DraftKings and FanDuel. With 26 teams in action, there are plenty of high-quality starting pitchers from which to choose alongside a long list of lesser options that can be targeted with bats. The Braves are once again topping the power index in a matchup against Mets righty Tylor Megill, while the Rangers, Dodgers, and Padres all have plus matchups against lesser starters that push them toward the top of the board. The wide range of viable options at pitcher makes it easy to create unique combinations of stacks and get to essentially anything one would desire on the slate, there are playable starters at a variety of prices with a full half of the board ranking within nine points of the top pitcher projection and several other options just below that level.
Main Slate Power Index – 8/11/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
