The Monday evening main slate has a traditional 7:05 ET start time on both DraftKings and FanDuel with a pool populated by pitchers who will push power potential toward opposing hitters. A few premium starters are available who will no doubt be crushingly popular, but the ability to stack against middling or inexperienced arms with some of the best MLB DFS lineups around is appealing on this slate. Of course, it being baseball, the bottom-ranked Twins will ruin Luis Castillo’s night with home runs, and Colin Rea will beat the Reds with a no-hit effort. Getting to a potent blend of the handful of good pitching options and covering the top overall hitting combinations as best as possible is the approach for a slate of this nature, the day is likely to be won by big outbursts at the plate once again.
Main Slate Power Index – 7/24/23
The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
