MLB DFS: Power Index – 6/28/23 – DraftKings & FanDuel Main Slates

A 13-game midweek main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel brings a board loaded with potential at the plate. Today’s slate is more shaped to mid-range pitching with a lot of teams landing on their third or fourth starters, but there are several premium options and a fairly broad playable mid-range that will surely include some unpopular choices on a large slate. Getting to a spread of the under-owned value pitching in combination with some of the top bats of the day has proven to be a strong strategy on a slate of this nature and we have seen winning lineups take that approach all season. The top pitchers of the day should be included at their high prices as well, but getting to a range that includes Logan Allen, Domingo German, Zach Eflin, Logan Webb, Miles Mikolas, and other capable mid-tier starters at cheap prices can pay dividends when the top options go bust or fall short.

Main Slate Power Index – 6/28/23

The power index represents a team’s opportunity for home run upside in the matchup against the scheduled starting pitcher. This is not a direct guideline for stacking, but it can be utilized to determine the most likely sources of power-based contact, hitters who are not homering are frequently hitting doubles and driving in runs, and providing valuable MLB DFS scoring. The “Full” column averages our home run opportunity score for each player in the lineup from 1-9, while the “Top 6” column averages only hitters 1-6, where teams typically place their most significant bats.
